LADARVision®
EXCIMER LASER SYSTEM
FEATURING THE
LADARTracker 4000
TRACKING LASER
Our surgeons use the LADARVision®
4000 Excimer Laser System, with a unique small spot corneal shaping
beam, which utilizes LADARTracker, the only patented laser
radar eye tracker approved by the FDA. Precision shaping of the
cornea depends upon accurate placement of the laser beam.
Even when you are unaware, your eyes are constantly making fine
movements, many of which are beyond your control. LADARTracker
uses laser and radar technology developed for NASA to track the
position of your eye 4,000 times per second, thereby maintaining
accurate placement of the beam.
Dr.
Rubinstein at the Excimer Laser.
The LADARVision® cool, small spot laser beam
(less than 1 millimeter in diameter) allows micron-size reshaping
of the cornea, offering precision treatment to a broad range of
patients including almost everyone who is nearsighted, nearsighted
with astigmatism, farsighted with astigmatism, and those with both
regular and mixed astigmatism.
Michigan Eyecare Institute owns and manages our LADARVision®
Tracking Laser and are the only surgeons and staff to use it. Ownership
allows us to maintain maximum control over the laser's use, including
regular maintenance and updates, in order to keep it working at
top performance. Owning the laser also helps us to keep our surgery
rates more affordable.
