CK
Conductive Keratoplasty

Who is a candidate?

In general most people are a candidate if they are over the age of 45, have had great vision all of their life without glasses, and now struggle with reading menus, price tags, books, etc.

The Procedure

CK, which takes less that 3 minutes, is done in-office. Eye drop anesthesia is applied to numb the eye. Radio waves are applied in a circular pattern on the cornea to correct farsightedness. CK is typically performed in just one eye, restoring close-up vision.

What can I expect post-operatively?

Most patients feel well enough to return to work and/or drive within 1 or 2 days. Mild watering and irritation may persist for 2-3 days. Generally, vision stabilizes in approximately 1-3 months.

CK Results:

  • Nearly 91 percent of patients reported being satisfied with their visual outcome after having CK.
  • The CK procedure provided a restoration to normal vision in 93 percent of patients, according to clinical trial data.
  • These outcomes continue to exceed the FDA guideline of 85 percent restoration to normal vision for refractive surgical procedures.
